About John
John Acevedo brings a wealth of international and education-based experience to his role in the classroom where he teaches Spanish, Physics, and nature study.
Prior to joining the Brookewood staff, John worked for more than two decades with Berlitz International, serving most recently as on-site president of the Berlitz franchise, Ecuador, as well as director of strategic planning US, director of Berlitz Virtual Classroom, and national director of government affairs (US), among other positions. He also has worked as an award-winning financial services representative with The Prudential Insurance Company of America.
John attended the University of the Andes, Bogota, Colombia with a major in physics, and is a native speaker of both English and Spanish. He and his wife, Amparo, reside in North Bethesda. They are the parents of two Brookewood graduates, Mary Joseph (’16) and Ann Marie (’14).
