Athletics

Brookewood has a growing athletics program. We currently field high school and middle school field hockey, volleyball, basketball, soccer and lacrosse teams.
Outside of sports, Brookewood students often go on outdoor hikes to such places as Sugarloaf Mountain, the Billy Goat Trail at Great Falls, Old Rag Mountain in Virginia, Harpers Ferry or the Catoctins. The girls learn pacing, endurance, and assessment of risks all the while enjoying the beauty of nature
Why sports? Athletics are an integral part of teaching young women to be adventurous. To play a sport, students have to condition, get fit, and learn to listen to their coach. Most importantly, they have to learn to play with other players on the team.
