Brookewood's International Program

Brookewood School is pleased to welcome international high school students to live and study in the Washington, D.C. metro area. We have hosted   young women from Italy, China, Germany, Spain, Nigeria, South Korea and Ethopia. International students will reside with a Brookewood host family. This family will provide living quarters, meals, and a family away from home for the visiting student.

This school is authorized under Federal law to accept non-immigrant alien students. We are currently accepting grades 9-12 for international students.

The Application Process

In order to apply to Brookewood School, students should email Mrs. Glencora Pipkin, gpipkin@brookewood.org, the international student coordinator, after filling out the application documents. The process will go as follows:
(1) Students will need to submit:
         (a) a completed ONLINE APPLICATION (please click the button below)
         (b) the $105 non-refundable application fee online (pay online securely, pressing the button directly after the application)
         (c) an English translated transcript for the previous academic school year
         (d) and one teacher recommendation.

For the recommendation form,  you may use the one below that Brookewood provides, if you prefer.  It is perfectly acceptable to scan the form and send it as a PDF file to gpipkin@brookewood.org.

(2) After reviewing the documents, the international coordinator will contact you whether or not we would like to pursue admission. We will then schedule a video interview via Skype or FaceTime. You will need to provide your Skype address or FaceTime address.

(3) Brookewood will make a decision from the application materials and interview. If the student is accepted, we will proceed with the materials and documents needed to receive an I-20 to apply for an F-1 student visa.  The student and parent will need to sign a contract for the duration of study.
