About Irene
Irene is a founding teacher at Brookewood and a native Italian from Brescia, Italy. She is currently teaching Italian II to high school students. While in Italy, she taught Latin, Greek, and ancient history at the secondary school level. She attended a Liceo Classico (a classical high school) in Brescia and received a master’s degree in classical literature at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. All three of her daughters have graduated from Brookewood, and both sons have graduated from Avalon ('21 and '23).
Irene is an excellent cook, and she often invites classes to her home to learn the art of pasta making. She currently lives in Rockville, Maryland with her husband and five children.
