About Donatella
Donatella has been teaching upper school math and Italian at Brookewood for 12 years; this year she is teaching Italian III, math 8/7, and trigonometry. A native of Brescia, Italy, Donatella studied mathematics for a bachelor’s degree at Università Cattolica and for a Ph. D. from the Università degli Studi di Milano. After receiving her doctorate, she spent one year at MIT as a visiting scientist, where she met her husband Steve Brown, professor of engineering and dean of graduate studies at the Catholic University of America. She permanently moved to America in 1994 and has since had six children. She resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with her family. Her daughter Annamaria attends Brookewood, while her other daughters Marta and Veronica have graduated from Brookewood. Her sons attend or have attended the Avalon School.
