About Andrea
Andrea Francois joined the Brookewood faculty in January 2012, as the 3rd grade teacher. In the fall of 2017 Ms. Francois became the 5th grade teacher and Lower School Director. In the fall of 2021 her role expanded to become the Kindergarten through 6th Grade Director. Ms. Francois is currently pursuing an Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator certification, to provide best literacy practices to all students.
Ms. Francois is originally from Portland, Oregon and is the fifth of six children. She is now a proud aunt to ten nieces and nephews and her family is spread out across Oregon, California, Kansas, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Texas. Ms. Francois attended the University of Dallas, where she graduated in 2005 with a BA in English and a concentration in Studio Art: Ceramics.
In her free time, Ms. Francois enjoys reading, hiking, photography, and traveling. She hopes to visit all of the National Parks in her lifetime, but so far has only seen nine out of sixty-one. Ms. Francois would like to hike the complete Appalachian Trail and the complete Camino de Santiago, as well as Mount Kilimanjaro. She would also like to see all seven continents.
